When humans don’t have all the information they rely on maxims and gut feel. Things they’ve heard such as “Never sell, my boy” (Greystoke, Legend of Tarzan) or “PE will asset strip your company and leave everyone miserable/unemployed”.

It will always come down to gut in the end - but some of the maxims can and should be examined.

When you sell your business both parties will be making promises and assumptions that can have significant effects and can swing the post-sale regret/delight meter considerably.

Some fears you have will not come to pass - yet other things will emerge. So you have to back yourself and move forward.
